Hello,
Not much has remained in my brains from the German I learned at school about 35years ago, so English it will be… … sorry; or if you prefer Dutch or French, tell me… …
First steps with CC-Schnitte here
I’m using the CC-Schnitte in combination with Gleissbox, MS2 and Rocrail.
Led’s RS232 and CAN on the CC-Schnitte blinks regularly, that sounds good, I suppose... ...
I added the CC-Schnitte as a new Controller in Rocrail with settings as in attached files
Basically I didn’t change anything except the type and com number.
I then changed the Interface Id of a loc to this new CCSchnitte.
I can turn the power on via Rocrail interface and on the connected MS2 I indeed see the red Stop letters turn white.
That all sounds good but the problem is the locs don’t react to any commands from Rocrail, no speed commands, no function commands.
I tried on a Märklin loc having mfx & DCC capability and a second loc with Esu LocSound 5 decoder.
Both didn’t react on the commands.
With the MS2 on the other hand I can run any loc.
I then removed the loc from Rocrail list and added it again with no success.
What did I configure wrong??
==================================================
I also have a Märklin 7286 turntable with Littfinsky TT-DEC decoder.
Using Rocaril, I can operate that TT without problem using NMRA-DCC protocol.
Thanks for your inputs... ...
Best regards
Alain; CC-Schnitte Dummy!
Really no one
Did I ask something stupid?
Not even a sign that one of the many settings isn’t set correctly?
Or do you need more information but are too shy to ask??
Hello,
Thank you for your reaction!
I thought Rocrail was widely used as train controller software, apparently not.
Is there a specific reason for this?
What is more commonly used among CAN digital-Bahn users? Please let hear of you!
I am here, for the time being, trying out some things, nothing is already 100% fixed.
Another (better) control software is also a possibility, all suggestions are welcome.
Best regards
Alain

Hello Alain,
there are several different controller softwares widely used, Rocrail is only one of them.
It depends on what you prefer personally (...and not what I prefer):
'Rocrail': here you don't have to invest money, but instead you need to invest your lifetime to learn how to make the right settings to get the software going. They have an own forum for solving problems.
'Modellstellwerk': here you have a software that is very near to an original railway control center. For this reason you would have to learn some of the rules of the original railway. If you haven't yet noticed it: The forum of this software is right here on our homepage, too.
'WinDigipet': here you have a software also widely spread and often used with CAN-digital-Bahn. They have an own forum where problems can be discussed, too.
There are still some other softwares but I'm not able to mention all of them. You can find a list of the compatible softwares on the description-page of the CC-Schnitte:
It is bad idea to have Rocrail running and CC-Schnitte and Gleisbox powered off. Always power on the hardware, then start Rocrail.
Concerning your loco-problems: you have minor problems using Rocrail in CAN master mode, not as slave, you didn´t tell us about it yet which mode you are using. If Rocrail is CAN master, and the MS2 is forced to slave mode, Rocrail is chief of MFX inventory and MS2 uses Rocrail data and locos will run. Mostly...
The combination of Rocrail and CC-Schnitte ist not without problems since Rocrail changed central from mcs2 to mbus. With the mcs2 central Rocrail worked best with CC-Schnitte and Gleisbox, mbus is hard to use, and I suppose there will be no progress to be better in time. You can find several threads in both forums. Other softwares like WDP or Itrain work with no such problems. With Rocrail you always have to deal with and use a lot of brain... Believe me, I used the combination for years... And I changed to CS2 because Rocrail deactivated CAN master mode for months in the last year so my concept wasn´t working, then master mode was reactivated and noone knew why... officially due to communication changes in MS2 since the last update to v3.55. mbus works without problems with the CS2, but not with CC-Schnitte and Gleisbox. Why ever. It´s not the problem of the CC-Schnitte, it´s one of Rocrail/ mbus.

Version of what?
Rocrail: 2.1.677
MS2: SW: V2.5; HW: V2.1; LDB: V014 (2014/5); Language: V1.49; Dateisysteem: V1.2; Can-Bus: Master
You know people tend to have bad ideas once they are desperate.
In my first post you can see a screen shot of all tabs of the MBus settings.
Master is not checked, so I suppose the MS2 is the master, right?
Who is the better master Rocrail or the MS2?
Sad to read:
“The combination of Rocrail and CC-Schnitte is not without problems since Rocrail changed central from mcs2 to mbus." and
“mbus is hard to use” and
“mbus works without problems with the CS2, but not with CC-Schnitte and Gleisbox.”
only now while the website states that CC-Schnitte does work with Rocrail.
Can I return my CC-Schnitte and expect a refund of the device and transport costs?
Anyway, thanks for your inputs!
I'll have another trial later today or tomorrow.
Food for thought… … …
Alain
the version of Rocrail I ment, and OK, your version should be OK with the timeouts... this is better discussed in Rocrail forum.
Sorry, I did not recognize your master settings. Yes, you have MS2 as CAN master, that is not the solution I preferred. I wanted Rocrail to be the master, because it was easier to handle for me and worked fine with mcs2. Since the mcs2 was cancelled an mbus was the central of choice in Rocrail, I was disappointed from Rocrail.
And I repeat: Rocrail is the problem, not the CC-Schnitte. And yes, Thorsten says that the CC-Schnitte works "at this time" with Rocrail, but he cannot support it in any way. Rocrail says itself that the CC-Schnitte is not fully supported. Because the mcs2-central was working perfectly, I do not understand what the problem is... You can read in several threads that Rob Versluis does not want to make compromises with better supporting the CC-Schnitte.
